During a visit to South Africa, John Cusack had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Graham Sinclair, a sustainable finance consultant and advisor for South African investment funds, in Cape Town on 30 March. Mr. Cusack offered his support to Mr. Sinclair on his forth-coming project to initiate a Social Investment Forum for African-based investors.
Mr. Cusack was selected to introduce Leith Sharp, founder of the Harvard University Green Campus Initiative, when Ms. Sharp spoke about “Organizational Change Management for Sustainability: The Harvard Case Study” at the monthly NJIT Technology & Society Lecture Series on March 25. Prior to the lecture, NJIT honored Leith with a luncheon in Eberhardt Hall, and Mr. Cusack gave Leith a short tour of the NJIT campus, including the solar arrays on the Student Center roof and other green features. The NJIT Science & Technology lecture series is sponsored by the NJIT Technology and Society Forum Committee, NJIT’s Albert Dorman Honors College, the Murray Center for Women in Technology, and Sigma Xi.
PSEG, New Jersey’s largest electric and gas utility, requested that Mr. Cusack serve again as a Judge for the PSEG Environmental Vision Awards program for PSEG Employees. Judging took place on 20 March at PSEG’s Newark headquarters, and the Awards were distributed at the PSEG-sponsored GreenFest event held on 27 March. This is the second consecutive year that Mr. Cusack has had the honor of serving as a judge for these important awards for PSEG employees who show a commitment to environment and sustainability issues above and beyond their position descriptions.
