In partnership with Dr. Shana Weber, Director of Sustainability at Princeton University, Mr. Cusack, as Executive Director of NJHEPS, organized the Northeast Campus Sustainability Consortium (NECSC) Annual Conference “Putting Together the Pieces of the Sustainability Puzzle” held at Princeton University on 27-28 October. NECSC is an informal association of sustainability directors and leaders from colleges and universities ranging from Maine to Maryland. Mr. Cusack arranged for the conference such speakers as Lisa Jackson (Now USEPA Administrator), Ralph Izzo (Chairman and CEO of PSEG), Jeanne Fox (President, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities) and a panel of three NJ higher education presidents speaking about why sustainability is important to higher education.
As a member of the joint USEPA/Conference Board/New York Society of Security Analysts working group on “Environmental Financial Metrics”, Mr. Cusack participated in the USEPA Financial Information Committee Meeting held at EPA Region 2 Headquarters in New York City on 23 October. The purpose of this meeting was to help determine how the corporate environmental data and information in EPA’s databases could be made more user friendly for financial analysts and asset managers.
At the request of the President of County College of Morris (CCM) President, Mr. Ed Yaw, Mr. Cusack was a keynote speaker on the ”Business of Sustainability in Higher Education” at the CCM Student Sustainability Symposium held on CCM’s campus in Randolph NJ on 13 October.
At the request of the host’s senior management, Mr. Cusack participated in the Invitation-only Eagles Nest Sustainability Conference sponsored by Ecology & Environment for their clients, held in Blue Mountain Lake, NY from 6 to 8 October.
