John Cusack attended the National Science Foundation’s Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) conference entitled “Innovation Ecosystems for the Creative Economy”, held in Arlington, VA, on behalf of the Stevens Institute of Technology’s Environmental Entrepreneurship Initiaitve, which was a NSF PFI grantee.

Clean Energy Innovation Conference at Yale April 24, 2010

Mr. Cusack attended the first “Clean Energy Innovation” Conference, sponsored by the Yale Climate and Energy Institute(YCEI), and held at the Yale Law School in New Haven CT. Speakers included YCEI Director and IPCC Chairman Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, DoE Special Advisor Matt Rogers, EPA Assistant Administrator Gina McCarthy, former Governor of New York George Pataki, and New Haven Mayor John DeStefano.

Mr. Cusack chaired a panel on “the Economic Dimensions of Sustainability” at the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) 2010 Sustainability Summit, “A Climate Change on Campus’, held in Worcester MA. Over 270 higher education executives, administrators, faculty and students were present.

PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies April 21, 2010

Mr. Cusack was a guest of Montclair State University at the launch ceremony for the PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies at Montclair State University, which was started with a generous donation from the PSEG Foundation.

Moral Heat: Environmental Ethics April 20, 2010

Representing Iona College, where he teaches a course entitled “Sustainable Finance” in the Finance Department, Mr. Cusack attended “Moral Heat: Environmental Ethics”, a conference co-sponsored by the Business School and the Theology School at Fordham University’s Lincoln Center campus.

Greenwich Leadership Forum April 14, 2010

Mr. Cusack attended the Annual Dinner of the Greenwich Leadership Forum in Greenwich, CT, which honored Stephen Green, the Chairman of HSBC Bank and the author of the book “Good Value: Reflections on Money, Morality, and an Uncertain World”, which was published in January. Mr. Green is an unusual business leader, as he is also an ordained Church of England minister, and there was an interesting discussion about his book and the need for ethical leadership in the financial world.
